November is American Indian Heritage Month, a time set aside to encourage people to reflect on the Native tribes and cultures that first inhabited North America. Just in time for the holiday, there is a new young adult novel out written by a Native American author that centers on a lesser known character in the Peter Pan story, the daughter of the Indigenous Chief of the Picaninny Tribe, and keeper of the land in which Neverland was located.
