(Twin Cities) – Fans of a good mystery will have the opportunity to meet two award-winning authors who write in that genre at Twin Cities Barnes & Noble bookstores in August. Marilyn Jax and Jim Proebstle are planning a joint book tour.
Jax, who resides in the Twin Cities, will debut her just released third novel, “Sapphire Trails,” at the events. She will also sign copies of her other two highly acclaimed books, “Road to Omalos” and “The Find.” All three titles are murder mysteries featuring fictional Miami-based private investigators Claire Caswell and Gaston “Guy” Lombard.
“Sapphire Trails” is set at a lodge in the mountains of Montana. “Road to Omalos,” winner of several book awards, including the prestigious Benjamin Franklin Award for Best Mystery/Suspense of 2011 and the International Book Award for Best Fiction Thriller/Adventure of 2011, is set in Miami and on the Greek Island of Crete. “The Find,” which has won six book awards, including a 2008 Indie Excellence Award, is set in Miami and the Caribbean.
Proebstle, who is from the Chicago area, will sign copies of “Fatal Incident,” an award-winning WW II historical fiction story of conspiracy, espionage and human emotions based on a true Minnesota story with real Minnesota characters who are involved in an unresolved military air disaster in Alaska. “In the Absence of Honor,” winner of two book awards, positions conspiracy, power, greed and love at center stage in a story of Native American corruption in Minnesota casinos, and will also be available.
