WCCO TV's Mid Morning Interviews Volunteers Working on 3,000 Acts of Kindness Event for the Homeless

Three months from now, hundreds of the Twin Cities’ homeless will be invited to the Minneapolis Convention Center for the annual 3,000 Acts of Kindness event hosted by the Plymouth-based nonprofit Coated in Love. And a lot of work needs to be done in the next 90 days or so to make the event a reality.
Collection bins will soon be in place at Chick fil A restaurants throughout the Twin Cities and Reflect Salons in Plymouth, Maple Grove and Minnetonka. Chick Fil A locations will be collecting new hats and gloves and new toiletry items. Reflect Salons will be collecting new donated toiletry items only.
Event founder Danielle Igbanugo and Coated in Love Board member Amy Cheney were interviewed on WCCO TV's Mid Morning on September 15. They put the call for help with donations, and also the need for volunteers. Igbanugo estimates this year’s event will attract 4,000 people. That’s more than triple the 900 people who came the first year, and almost double the 2022 figure of 2,751 guests served.
