There is an effort underway to build a National Service Park that elevates all forms of national service in the town of Plainview, Minnesota, which is 20 miles northeast of Rochester, Minnesota, and RMA Publicity handled the promotion.
The day of the park launch event, November 4, 2023, KAAL TV in Rochester aired a story, and the Plainview News covered the event that brought national representatives from the U.S. Military, the National Guard, the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps to Plainview.
In addition, preview stories about the event aired on KMSP (FOX 9) in Minneapolis (Nov. 2), KAAL TV in Rochester (Nov. 1), and were published in the Star Tribune newspaper on Oct. 27, in the Sun This Week on Oct. 13th, and in the Rochester Post Bulletin newspaper on October 10th.
Distinguished speakers who came to Minnesota for the event included Army Four-Star General Joseph Votel; Colonel Eduardo Suarez, Director of Communications for the MN National Guard; Carol Spahn, the Director of the Peace Corps; and Ken Goodson, Director, AmeriCorps National Director Civilian Community Corps. They each spoke from their unique perspectives about how their agencies approach the common goal of serving our nation.
The day of fun, food, learning and music happened in the Plainview High School gymnasium.
