Books on a Boat

ST. PAUL (MN) –A dozen top selling Minnesota authors will explore the electronic revolution in publishing, reveal when, where and why they write, and answer audience questions at the "Books-On-A-Boat Authors Festival” aboard the Minnesota Centennial Showboat Theater from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14.

Don Shelby, former WCCO-TV news anchor and author of "The Season Never Ends," will moderate two panel discussions fielding questions for the authors and publishing industry experts. In addition to the panel discussions, authors will sign books and talk individually with guests at author tables in the Showboat reception areas.

“The book publishing world is searching for solid footing amid the electronic revolution,” asserts program sponsor Capt. Jim Kosmo, founder of Author’s Advocate, LLC. “While authors feel the neutron dust particles falling on their heads they need to discover new, innovative ways to touch readers. Books-On-A-Boat is the perfect opportunity to get up close and personal with a group of successful authors, learn about the tectonic shift in publishing, and do some holiday shopping at a discount.”

Tickets for the “Books-On-A-Boat Authors Festival” are available in advance at www.BooksOnABoat.com for $12 ($15 at the door) offset by $10 in BOAB Bucks to use toward book purchases. Attendees will be entered in a series of prize drawings and receive discounts, free gift wrapping, snacks and entertainment in addition to the two panel discussions.

The program is scheduled in the Victorian-style Minnesota Showboat Theater located at Harriet Island Park, just across the Wabasha Street Bridge from St. Paul City Hall. Profit from the event will be donated to the St. Paul Rotary Club’s Second Century Scholarship Fund, an endowment program that grants a $20,000 college scholarship annually to a St. Paul high school student.

Participating promotion partners include Beaver’s Pond Press, Little Buffalo Literary Law, RMA Publicity, Drake Bank, Three Eyed Bird Web Services, The Loft Literary Center, and Padelford Riverboats.  For additional information and to purchase tickets online contact Capt.
