(St. Louis Park, MN) – Local author, psychologist and actor Tom Glaser found a unique way to launch his new book, Full Heart Living: Conversations with the Happiest People I Know.
A performance piece based on the book, “Full Heart Living LIVE! The Boot Camp Experience,” premieres at the Minnesota Fringe Festival. The annual 11-day performing arts extravaganza runs Thurs., Aug. 4 – Sun., Aug. 14, at various Twin Cities theaters.
“Right after I started writing the book it occurred to me: some people would read a book, while others may not read a book but would come to a performance.”
With that the inspiration for "Full Heart Living LIVE!" was born. “This is another way to spread the word while also providing outlets for my many interests,” he said.
Glaser is a psychologist and life coach with over 30 years of experience in providing integrative, person-centered psychotherapy and personal coaching. He explains that in the show, through movement and spoken word, the five-member ensemble both entertains and instructs.
“You’ll laugh. You’ll learn. You won’t break a sweat,” promises the show’s tagline. As in the book, the show explores living with a full heart through connecting more deeply with others and with ourselves, developing mindfulness, living with passion, and much more.
As ensemble member G. Zachariah White explains, “Full Heart Living means getting to live in ways that allow people to see who you are. It means being connected enough to yourself to really connect to others.”
“Full Heart Living LIVE! The Boot Camp Experience” will be performed at Bryant Lake Bowl, located at 810 West Lake Street, Minneapolis, on Saturday, 8/6 at 5:30 p.m.; Sunday, 8/7 at 8:30 p.m.; Tuesday, 8/9 at 10 p.m., Friday, 8/12 at 5:30 p.m.; and Saturday, 8/13 at 8:30 p.m. To purchase tickets, visit www.fringefestival.org.
A crowd-funding campaign has been set up to help cover production costs. Donations are gratefully accepted.
The book will be available beginning August 5, 2016, at www.fullheartliving.com.
