Polly Norman, author, "Dances Through Glass," was a guest on "News And Views" on WCCO Radio on Sunday, Oct. 6th.
The interview with WCCO's Roshini Rajkumar was in observance of the first day of Mental Health Awareness Week, which runs from October 6-12.
The interview began with a discussion about the role mental illness has played in recent high profile news stories across the country. The segment also touched on the many people in your life who may have a mental illness you don't know about, as well as Norman's newly published book, "Dances Through Glass," which she illustrates her own struggles with bipolar disorder. Norman is hoping the book will be a tool that helps others out there who are struggling.
A story about Assistance League Minneapolis/St. Paul's annual school uniform giveway was featured on KSTP/KSTC in Minneapolis/St. Paul on Oct. 2nd.
All students who attend Riverview West Side in St. Paul were outfitted with two complete school uniforms, which include two pairs of khaki pants, two short-sleeved navy shirts and one long-sleeved navy shirt. They are among the 3,500 students who attend Pre-K through 5th grade at five schools in North Minneapolis and two in St. Paul that received uniforms this year.
Also of note, again this year Ashley Furniture has donated a truck and driver to transport uniforms from Assistance League’s warehouse in Hopkins to the schools where uniform distribution is being done. And, in addition to the uniforms, Assistance League donated a washer & dryer to Riverview West Side. More information about Assistance League can be found on the organization's website.

Reviewers are calling this book an instant hit.
